Design and manufacture is the only way to express my self as an artist.

I came into the Jewellery Design Programme in 2015 having studied graphic design a year before. I had no understanding of the art of jewellery manufacture. In Graphic design first year you get introduced to drawing and other things related to that course. Whereas jewellery first year had a larger emphasis on manufacturing by hand. I found it difficult to find my feet in the process of manufacturing for the first few months of my first year. Though the concept of manufacture became clear to me by second year the precision, (Making sure you get all the measurements correct for example) required was another hurdle I had to overcome. When we started wax carving I found the process therapeutic and my passion for the practice of manufacture grew.

During my third year I found my stride when I started exploring intricate design by creating pieces with wire and because of this, refining my soldering skills. Now at B-tech year I am exploring and being more playful with the medium of wax. My love for fine wire

style jewellery is also being exercised in which I have introduced elements of different glass shapes.
